We are very excited to welcome everyone back for the 2026–2027 school year! Join us for Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 10th to meet your child’s teacher, visit classrooms, and kick off another amazing year at Kolda Elementary School.

Please see the attached Meet the Teacher flyer for grade level times and the 2026–2027 district calendar for important dates throughout the school year. School supply lists will be shared as soon as they become available, so stay tuned to our campus social media pages and communication platforms for updates.

Today we celebrate our final Employee of the Month, Ms. Angie Loredo! She is a smiling face for our cadets every day in the lunch room and brings such a warm, positive spirit to campus. Ms. Angie greets students with kindness, keeps the cafeteria running smoothly, and always makes time to encourage our cadets with a smile or friendly conversation. Hats off to a one of a kind cadet!

🎉💙❤️ Kolda 5th Grade Celebration Fun! ❤️💙🎉 Our 5th Grade Cadets had an unforgettable celebration today featuring the one and only Spikey Mikey and an exciting Color War showdown! Students battled it out by tossing red and blue colored powder on the opposing team, with the goal of covering the other team in as much of their color as possible! 🌈🎊 After an epic competition full of laughter, teamwork, and school spirit, the BLUE TEAM took home the victory in the 2025-2026 5th Grade Color War! 💙🏆 A huge thank you to Spikey Mikey for bringing so much energy and fun to our celebration, and an extra special THANK YOU to our amazing PTA for sponsoring and planning such a memorable event for our students. Your support helped make this day truly special for our Cadets! ❤️🤍💙 We are so proud of our 5th graders and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they accomplish next! 🎓✨

CCISD school campuses and district offices will be closed on Monday, May 25th, 2026 in observance of Memorial Day. We look forward to seeing our students on Tuesday, May 26th!

Today, May 22nd, is the last day for backpacks at Kolda.

Today was such a fun day honoring our Counselors of the Day, Levi Kocurek and Rory Martinez! From helping students, answering questions, making announcements, solving little problems, and keeping smiles on faces all around campus, they got a firsthand look at the MANY hats counselors wear each day. These two did an amazing job stepping into the role and showing leadership, kindness, and responsibility all day long. 💙✨

Day one of our TAMUCC field trip is in the books! We enjoyed a personalized campus tour, hands-on iCreate lab experiences, and immersive virtual reality learning. Our students also had the opportunity to explore the library and eat at the University Center just like college students. What an amazing day full of learning, exploration, and future inspiration! 🏝️💚💙

That’s a wrap on another amazing year of Student Council and Safety Patrol! We could not be more proud of our student leaders for the big impact they made on our campus this year. A special shoutout to Attorney Chinaz Koch for sponsoring our end-of-year celebration and to CCISD leadership for an exciting trip to Funtrackers to celebrate our students’ hard work and dedication. We are so proud of our cadets and all they accomplished this year! 💙

Student Council partnered with Mireles Elementary for a Bingo Night at Waterford Assisted Living. Our cadets showed great leadership by giving back to the community and sharing a fun experience with residents. It was a great way to close out Cinco de Mayo with service and connection.

The Kolda B.L.O.O.M. Club gathered for their spring tea celebration! Each B.L.O.O.M. Member brought with her a woman who inspires her to, “Become a Lady Of Outstanding Measures.” We are so proud of these young ladies! A special thank you to Zak Kolda’s Mother, Ms. Paula Smith, for being a wonderful guest speaker with an inspiring message.

April is the Month of the Military Child, and we are so proud to recognize and celebrate our incredible military-connected students! These students demonstrate resilience, strength, and adaptability every day, and we are honored to support them at Kolda Elementary. 💜 Although April is the official month of recognition, we continued the celebration into May with our annual Month of the Military Child field trip. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, make special memories, and honor the unique experiences of our students and their families. A heartfelt THANK YOU to MATSG-22, our amazing Military and Family Life Counselors, the families who were able to join us, and our wonderful PTA for providing Gatorade and cookies for our students and staff. Your support and partnership mean so much to our school community!
